Not 2D not 3D... it is 2.5DSo yesterday and today I managed to learn a technique I had almost all knowledge to use, I just needed a little push. It called parallax animated photo. I think. The point is I make video from a single photo.
First I created this. I overdone it a little with the smoke. The problem is I couldn't make realistic cigarette smoke right now, and because of the smoke it was 8 hours of rendering. And not even the smoke was the important but the moving effect... oh yeah I done that in 10 minutes.
And today I made this. In this the movement is perfectly show what this technique is all about. You can find the original still image here:
So I have a new skill I want to use in the future. This requires lot of practice in photoshop and blender too. Fun times
So I done things that I will not submit to dA
First this Metal Gear Rising "fan art". I like this sentence from him, and I thought this image of him is perfect for political flyer... I would vote for him based on this. But it really think this is only a concept at best, I am not a designer capable of draw him myself (I hate using screen cap from the game). Still I think it worth a mention, maybe someone do this for real, drawing Armstrong and the flag too with better style.
This one is my first fully working fluid simulation. I started to get how fluid simulation works in Blender. I rendered this as a test. The bullet is simply animated, there is nor real physics in its movement, but it is a fluid obstacle object so the water simulator counted it in. You can watch it in better resolution here: http://youtu.be/18TABgKVy5g
Also I have an extreme short fluid simulation video too. It is more interesting concept, but there
Journal to make my profile not pinkBecause V day is over and that skin only works that day.
But I feature some art from my favs, so this journal makes sense.

Valentine's Dayis here. RUN
Or play this:
You can even send this as a V card here on dA. DO IT. OR RUN!
I surprised myselfI know this isn't good, not realistic and not human at all. But I made this without watching any reference. It was a good practice. I didn't know I am capable of this detail with sculpturing in Blender.
And I even managed to make a decent metallic cycles material without any tutorial. The render is noisy because it was 100 samples.
I will practice sculpturing more after this.
More 3D stuff I do not upload hereAt least not in my gallery.
In the last two days I created two images in Blender.
This was my yesterday project:
This is another failed image that became Facebook cover. The concept was making something photorealistic and sad. I improvised this one. At a certain point I lost my interest, but finished it with composition, and sizing so it made for Facebook cover (for example I kept in mind my profile picture will be on the left, so I left space there).
And today I started to create a snow crystal:
Now this is a WIP. I am not sure I will finish it, but I want to make a better texture for it, and create a background material. This is hard to do. It is good enough to show it though.
Facebook CoversWell I am stupid but instead of creating something I am proud of submitting here on deviantART I create Facebook cover photos. I mean when one of my attempt fails in 3D it is always good enough to put them on my personal facebook's cover.
First I made this ghost based on a tutorial. It is too empty and pointless, so it is a cover
Then I wanted to make a fun looking minimalistic orb. Then it become a test for materials and textures.
And today I started to work on a realistic still-life image. It has too much flaw to post it here. I don't like the rubber. I just couldn't make good enough material. Also the guy has its problems. I like the pencil.
Lets say I fail a lot but want to use stuff I worked on. Why not? At lest I will remember these ideas.
Unity3D and meSo I started to learn Unity 3D maybe a month ago. I don't even know at this point. As I still has no good computer to work fast on anything (even GIMP takes years to start and make a single heal in it) I learn slow.... but still I have small wins in it.
Then there is the 3D part of it... my Blender knowledge is so perfect for Unity because Unity simply use .blend files like it is a natural thing. I just model something and drop it in the assets folder. That is all.
So learning Unity for me have had a nice head start. Then comes the problem of my other skills. I am terrible in animation, I am not that good in modelling, I don't even capable of creating my own textures... These are the areas what I know how they work, but they never turn out nice... and this

PE: Sketches and sketchbooksSketches and sketchbooks
Big, marvellous, elaborate, finished paintings and drawings you can see in various stunning galleries on dA and outside dA, while they require time and can occupy artist's workspace even for months, in a lot of cases make a small percentage of created pictures lying around the creator's desk. Sketches aren't just noted concepts or a stage in preparing an artwork - a couple of sketches a day can be the most influential source of improving your skills.
You have probably been through this more than once - far from your room, you got struck with a brilliant idea. In diffrent circumstances you'd most likely rush to transfer it onto paper or canvas, but well, that might be not so easy in a classroom or on a bus. It can be difficult even if you're home - how about more than one idea at once? Using a sketchbook as a notepad for any concepts is by far
Traditional CollageDefining Traditional Collage
Collage derives its name from the French verb coller, meaning to glue. Collage Art is formed by the the addition of an unlimited variety of already finished materials, substances and/or objects. The range of materials is truly unlimited and the subject is only to the limited to the individual artist's imagination. Paper, pictures and other materials are glued to a base surface. This may be canvas, wood or paper.
How To Create A 2D Collage
When creating a Collage the artist may use anything that can be easily glued to paper, canvas or wood. The same types of raw materials are glued to the board to form a picture or design. Some examples of materials may be:
Construction paper, paper bags, tissue paper, mar

3D Camera TrackingToday I learned this. Camera tracking. Basically it is a very simple thing. I select points on the first frame of the video, Blender tries to track those points. After that it sets up a 3D environment for the video. Aaaand it is really good in tracking.
This is my first attempt:
As you can see I used my Sburb logo for this little test. The reason for that it is much better than the Blender monkey head. The low poly count helps me to render it fast. I am really happy with this, one of my best "first attempts".

Lilyas has dedicated herself to making our community a brighter place with her vibrant artwork and infectious enthusiasm for interacting with others in our community. It has certainly paid off, as many deviants flock to her page on a daily basis to let her know how much of an inspiration she is. We absolutely agree, and couldn't let all that hard work go without recognition, so it's with great pride that we bestow the Deviousness Award for March 2014, to ... Read More
